music collage

this song describes how laurie feels about joining the wave.

this song reminds me of laurie and david when they break up

I think this song reminds me of laurie, and how she needs to be stronger and away from the wave.

this song reminds me of laurie and how she needs to get over the wave

How does the need to belong and be accepted by others cloud our judgment and keep people from making good choices?

The need to belong always makes a difference sor example in the Wave Robert was thee "class loser" so when the wave was brought up in class he thought it washis chanc to be part of something. Robert really went into this making himself the boyguard of Mr. Ross then thinking he could be something more, and this was true but in the end the way to fit in was trying, not just giving up in everything.

Do you think that students are misunderstood by parents and teachers? Why or why not?

Yes, I think that the students are misunderstood because the parents and techer see us as kids not a people. Most of the time we can't have an opinion. People always see kids as toddlers until they're 18, so because of that we "don't know what we want" and can't make our own choices. There are sometimes that it isn't so serious and the adults could be right, for example a cellphone is something really usefull that i will have for a long time, i wanted to have it green, green is my favorite color, but I couldn't get it because i might get sick of it later because it's such a bright color.

My Memoir

One Breath
“Event 40, heat 3, breast stroke 50.”
“Oh no. I'm next. Agh how did I get myself into this!”I thought.
It was 8 o'clock in the morning, my last Saturday before school and I was stuck here at the swim team championships. First I was in back stroke “agh” I hated it then I was in the most important event, breast stoke, everyone thought it was my best stroke but I wasn't so sure....
“Swimmers ready, get set,”the buzzer rang I had to jump, I wasn't ready I was late that morning and I didn't warm up. Psh I was only against two 11 year olds I could totally beat them,i was tring to think as I jumped in. In, out , kick, breath, in, out, kick, breath. i was doing it I was in the lead! Now I just got to push off! Flutter kick, flutter kick, kick, kick. Oh ya, I'm winning, by a lot. I'm on the surface time to breath...oh no what did I just do!um, I bet no one noticed, um, I'm still in the lead, um, in, out, kick, breath, in, out, kick, breath. Yes done with it all!
“Excuse me, whats you name” this guy asked me, “Jocelyne Rubio, why?” he didn't answer. “what's wrong?” I asked my coach “you got disqualified,” what they did notice!

Bark!
Click clack, click clack,thump.
Mom! Nanny has to go down stairs!
Once agin my dog, my 12 year old dog, has woken up at midnight to go pee.
Shes a good dog she always goes down stairs to pee, even if our stairs are dark and she normaly falls.
“Oh shes so small!” She sleeps on anything she can find on the corner of my brother's room. She sleeps on his rug, his clothes, his comforter and his backpack.
“Nanny, you wanna take a bath?”and once again Nanny runs away. Every time I say the word bath or I walk near the bathroom she suddenly disappears. “ugh Nanny you've gotten really fat” I say as I try to pick up my dog to take her a bath. I put her in the shower and she started to cry. “Aw” I think as I turn on the water. “Bark...whimper...bark,bark.” says my dog. “whoa, nanny come here” I yell as my dog runs away. “Oh no Nanny is gonna get dirty” I thought. Oh Nanny, she ran outside and started rolling in the dirt. Again I have to get Nanny and wash her again. There “Nanny your clean” Nanny runs up top her bed downstairs and starts to rubbing against it, then she runs upstairs and tries to dry herself on my brothers stuff. “Jocelyne! Get nanny out of here!” yells my brother. I go upstairs and my brothers whole room is wet. How did she do that in five minutes?
